4 IAS, 2 IRS & 1 ITS Officers Appointed on Key Postings Abroad, Vikas Sheel Made Executive Director, ADB

The Modi government has issued orders for new postings of 7 IAS, IRS & ITS officers to key positions abroad. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has cleared these appointments to foreign and captive posts of the Government of India.

1994 batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre Vikas Sheel has been appointed as Executive Director, Asian Development Bank in Manila (Philippines) for a period of three years. He was Additional Secretary and Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission under the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation (Ministry of Jal Shakti).

2002 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre Senthil Pandian C has been made the Permanent Representative of India to the World Trade Organization (WTO), Geneva. He replaces Brajendra Navnit, an IAS officer of 1999 batch and Tamil Nadu cadre, who completed the three year tenure. The Joint Secretary level post in the Permanent Mission of India (Geneva) functions under the Department of Commerce.

Dr M Balaji, an IAS officer of 2005 batch and Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed to the post of Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Brussels for a period of three years. Dr Balaji replaces Debasish Prusty (IAS: 2000: RJ) who will be completing his tenure on 31.03.2024.The Joint Secretary level post functions under Department of Commerce.

2008 batch IAS officer of Nagaland cadre, Ms Smita Sarangi has been appointed as Adviser to the Executive Director Asian Development Bank, Manila (Philippines) for a period of three years, a Captive Post of Govt of India, under Department of Economic Affairs. She replaces H Atheli (ICAS: 2000) at the level of Director.

2004 batch IRS officer Parveen Kumar is posted as Adviser to the Executive Director International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington DC, USA for a period of three years. Kumar replaces Simanchala Dash (IRS IT:1988). The Joint Secretary level post is a Captive Post of Govt of India and functions under the Department of Economic Affairs .

2010 batch IRS-C&IT officer Kalyan Revella is posted as Counsellor (Economic), Embassy of India in Beijing for a period of three years vice Lekhan Thakkar (CSS). Currently, Revella is working as Deputy Secretary, Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (CGPDTM), under DPIIT, Mumbai. This Foreign Post of Government of India, in Beijing, functions under the Department of Economic Affairs.

Tanu Singh, an ITS (Indian Trade Service) of 2012 batch, has been appointed to the post of First Secretary, Permanent Mission of India (PMI), World Trade Organization (Geneva) for a period of three years. This foreign post is under the Department of Commerce. Tanu Singh, currently Deputy Secretary in the Department of Justice, replaces Anwar Hussain Shaik (IRTS: 1999) who will complete his tenure on 31.03.2024.
