- IAS officer Mr. Sameer Sharma has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh. He will replace incumbent IAS officer Mr. Adityanath Das.

On Friday, the official order was issued regarding the appointment of Mr. Sameer Sharma as the new Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh. He is a 1985 batch IAS officer, he will take charge of the post from October 10. He will replace the incumbent Chief Secretary, Mr. Adityanath Das.
Mr. Adityanath Das is a 1987 batch IAS officer. He is attaining the age of his superannuation, and he was on a three-month extension. The period of his extension will end this month and he will retire on September 30.
Presently Mr. Sameer Sharma is posted as Special Chief Secretary of Planning and Resource Mobilization to the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Earlier he had also worked as the Commissioner of Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporations respectively.
He had also served as Director of the Smart Cities Mission of the Government of India.
