In a significant administrative move, the Andhra Pradesh government on Saturday announced a major reshuffle in the state police force, transferring and posting several Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across various districts. The reassignments are aimed at strengthening law enforcement, improving administrative responsiveness, and addressing evolving local challenges in public safety and security.
The latest postings reflect the government’s efforts to infuse fresh leadership and improve coordination across districts, particularly in areas with rising developmental activities and evolving law-and-order dynamics.
Key SP Transfers Across Andhra Pradesh
As per the official order, several district Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been reassigned. Highlights of the transfers include:
- Mr. A R Damodar, SP of Prakasam, has been transferred and posted as SP of Vizianagaram.
- Mr. Rahul Meena, SP of Railways, Guntakal, will now serve as SP of Dr. B R Ambedkar Konaseema.
- Mr. Vidhya Sagar Naidu, SP of Annamayya, has been moved to Krishna district.
- Mr. Vakul Jindal, SP of Vizianagaram, is now posted as SP of Guntur district.
- Mr. B Krishna Rao, SP of Dr. B R Ambedkar Konaseema, has been transferred to Palnadu.
New Appointments in Sensitive and High-Priority Districts
The reshuffle also includes key assignments in districts witnessing development projects, urban expansion, or sensitive law-and-order conditions:
- Mr. B Uma Maheshwar, SP (Administration), CID, is now the SP of Bapatla.
- Mr. V Harsha Vardhan Raju, previously SP of Tirupati, will now take charge in Prakasam district.
- Ms. Ajitha Vejendla, DCP (Law & Order), Visakhapatnam, has been appointed as SP of Nellore.
- Mr. L Subbarayadu, who was leading the Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force, Tirupati, has been posted as SP of Tirupati.
Focus on Young Leadership and Intelligence Assignments
- Mr. Tushar Dudi, SP of Rapatia, has been appointed as SP of Chittoor.
- Mr. Dheeraj Kumubili, Additional SP of Alluri Sitarama Raju district, is now SP of Annamayya district.
- Mr. Shelke Nachiketh Vishwanath, SP, Intelligence, has been posted as SP of Kadapa.
- Mr. Suneel Sheoran, Group Commander of Greyhounds, Visakhapatnam, will now serve as SP of Nandyal district.
- Mr. Sathish Kumar, SP of Guntur, has been transferred as SP of Sri Satya Sai district.
Pending Postings to Be Issued Separately
The government has stated that officers who have been transferred but not yet assigned to a new district will receive posting orders separately. This step-by-step reorganization indicates a strategic and phased reshuffle to ensure seamless transition and uninterrupted field operations.
