The Lucknow bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) on Wednesday sought reply from the Central and the Uttar Pradesh government over the petition filed by former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur challenging his compulsory retirement.
The order was passed by the bench of Administrative member A Mukhopadhyaya after hearing Amitabh Thakur, Union counsel Prayagmati Gupta and UP Government counsel S S Rajawat.
The Union and UP government sought 8 weeks to file the reply but was opposed by Amitabh Thakur as he said that he is facing social and financial distress because of this order.
The CAT has now granted six weeks till 6 August, the next date of hearing, to both the governments to file the reply.
