The Union government has effected a major reshuffle at the joint secretary level.

Mr. Muthukrishnan Sankaranarayanan (2003 batch IAS officer) has been made Joint Secretary in the Department of Atomic Energy for a combined tenure of seven years.

Mr. Shobhit Gupta (2000 batch IRSEE officer) became the new Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation for a tenure of five years.

Mr. Vimal Anand (2003 batch IRS officer) became Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce for a tenure of seven years.

Ms. Monalisa Dash (2003 batch IFoS officer) was appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region for a term of five years.

Mr. Rahul Jain (2005 batch IAS officer) became Joint Secretary in the Sixteenth Finance Commission under the Department of Economic Affairs for an overall tenure of five years.

Mr. Ranjit Singh (2003 batch IA&AS officer) was made Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries for a combined tenure of seven years.

Mr. Rajeev Kumar (2000 batch IFOS officer) became Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Ms. Vrunda Manohar Desai (2003 batch IRS officer) was appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting for an overall tenure of five years.

Mr. Navin Agarwal (1997 batch IRPS officer) became Joint Secretary in the Department of Investment & Public Asset Management for an overall tenure of five years.

Mr. Mahendra Kumar (1999 batch IRSEE officer) became Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Labour & Employment for an overall tenure of five years.

Mr. Vivek Kumar Bajpai (1999 batch IRSME officer) was mandated to assume office as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Mines for an overall tenure of five years.

Mr. Rajiv Manjhi was named Director of the Institute of Secretariat Training & Management (lSTM) under DoPT for a tenure up to his retirement in 2028.

Mr. Jai Prakash Pandey (2003 batch IRPS officer) was appointed Additional Secretary in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) under DoPT for a combined tenure of seven years.

Mr. Abhishek Bhagotia (2007 batch IAS officer) was appointed as Joint Secretary of Lokpal in the Department of Personnel & Training for an overall tenure of five years.

Mr. Lal Chhandama was named Joint Secretary in the Department of Rural Development.

Ms. Debolina Thakur (1998 batch IA&AS officer) became the Joint Secretary & FA in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a tenure of five years.

Mr. Rahul Kashyap (CSS) became Secretary of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK) under the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a tenure of five years.
