In a big change to the age criteria of Jammu and Kashmir’s State civil services exam, the UT government has increased the limit for the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination (JKCCE) 2023 by 3 years. It is being considered as big relief by the youth of the state.

According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department on Sunday, the maximum age limit for open merit candidates has been increased from the present 32 years to 35 years.

Similarly, the upper age limit for reserved category candidates and physically challenged candidates was increased from 34 years to 37 years and from 35 years to 38 years respectively. An order in this regard was issued on behalf of Sanjeev Verma, Commissioner Secretary, General Administration.

The age limit rule was amended under the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination Act 2018. On May 10, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha approved the relaxation of upper age limit for JKCCE in view of the demands by several deputations including candidates.

Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Exam (CCE) is the topmost exam conducted by Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC). The exam is conducted yearly to recruit the candidates to various services notified under the KAS exam.
