The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will soon have an improved sanctioned strength of IAS officers. The sanctioned strength is set to rise from 145 to 165 as a proposal to this effect has been approved by the Government of India and sent to the Union Home Ministry for clearance.
According to information, posts at almost all levels have been increased to take the strength up to 165. Sanctioned strength at the level of Financial Commissioners, Principal Secretaries, Commissioner/ Secretaries, and Secretaries among others will go up once the proposal to raise the strength is cleared.
Jammu and Kashmir, which at present has a sanctioned strength of 145 IAS officers, a few months back was allocated some senior officers. As per a DoPT-issued notification, 65 senior duty posts of AGMUT were allocated to Jammu and Kashmir in Indian Administrative Services.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had also extended a deputation of All India Services officers to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
