1991 batch IAS officer Dr Raju Narayana Swamy’s new book named ‘Cyber Law, Crimes, Forensics and Cyber Security: A 1,7,1… Introductory Approach’ was released by Metro Man E. Sreedharan on 19 October in Ponnani, Kerala.
The book is styled in the form of 171 questions and answers. It is expected to be useful for beginners as well as LLM students.
This is the 32nd book by Dr Swamy. His earlier works include the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award winning travelogue Shantimanthram Muzhangunna Thazhvarayil as well as Neelakkurinji: Oru Vyazhavattathile Vasantham, which won him the Kunhunni award.
Apart from Cyber Forensics and Cyber Security, the book also deals with frontier technological concepts ranging from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Quantum Computing as well as the Techno-legal challenges thereof.
Dr Swamy, popularly known as Kerala’s anti-corruption crusader, was in the news recently for performing a record number of duties as Central Observer of the Election Commission of India – including a duty as International Observer in the 2018 Zimbabwe Elections.
He also won in 2021 the acclaimed Leonardo da Vinci Fellowship instituted by the Center for Intellectual Property and Innovation Policy, George Mason University for his scholarship in intellectual property law. He also won the prestigious Homi Bhabha Fellowship (in cyber law) and was awarded the 2018 Satyendra K. Dubey Memorial Award by IIT Kanpur for his professional integrity in upholding human values.
A B.Tech from IIT Madras in computer science and engineering, Swamy holds a PG Diploma from the National Law School, Bangalore as well as an LL M from NLU Delhi- both with gold medals.
