Chandigarh: The Punjab government has issued a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring 12 IAS officers and one PCS officer, including senior officials who had been without postings for several months. The latest orders were released on Monday by Chief Secretary KAP Sinha.
Key Appointments and Postings
Three officers who were without postings for some time have now been assigned important roles:
- Vikas Pratap: Appointed Additional Chief Secretary, Technical Education and Industrial Training
- Sumer Singh Gurjar: Posted as Principal Secretary, Defence Services Welfare
- Jaspreet Singh: Assigned as Director, Industries and Commerce
These postings aim to streamline administrative functions and fill crucial vacancies in key departments.
District-Level Changes
Punjab also witnessed significant changes at the district level, with new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) appointed in four districts:
- Himanshu Aggarwal and Varjeet Singh Walia swapped positions as DCs of Patiala and Jalandhar, respectively.
- Akash Bansal appointed as DC, Kapurthala, replacing Amit Kumar Panchal, who now serves as DC, Muktsar.
- Abhijit Kaplish, previously DC of Muktsar, retains charge as Director, Mines and Geology.
Additional Charges
Some officers have been given additional responsibilities in key divisions:
- Kanwal Preet Kaur Brar: Additional charge as Commissioner, Faridkot Division
- Babita: Additional charge as Commissioner, Ferozepur Division
- These appointments are expected to strengthen administrative oversight in the state.
