In a surprise move, 1985 batch IAS officer from Punjab cadre, Arun Goel, who is currently serving as Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries, takes VRS six weeks before his retirement on 31 November. ‘
After Goel’s VRS request was accepted Friday evening, the central government notified Kamran Rizwi (IAS:1991:UP) as Goel’s replacement, effective 19.11.2022.
The Centre had appointed Rizwi as OSD in the Ministry of Heavy Industries on 19.10.2022 until Goel’s retirement (31.12.2022).
