Applause poured in for the STF team which killed dacoit Gauri 2 years ago. At the behest of CM Yogi, the DGP honored Amitabh Yash and his team by giving Rs 3-3 lakh in cash and one pistol each from the government treasury.
1996 batch IPS officer and ADG-STF Amitabh Yash is the same police officer whose one trick freed Bundelkhand from the terror of dacoits.
In the year 2017, the BJP government was formed in UP. Yogi became the CM. ‘Operation Gauri’ was launched to free Bundelkhand from dacoits. In order to find Gauri, one of most heinous dacoit in that area, teams from local police to STF started raiding his bases in Chitrakoot forests. After that, Gauri fled to the forests of Madhya Pradesh.
In March 2021, Gauri assaulted forest department officials and laborers working in the forests of Manikpur in Chitrakoot district. After this incident, the Yogi government increased the reward announced on Gauri to Rs 5 lakh. At the same time, the MP government also put a reward of 50 thousand rupees on him. The Special Task Force of the police i.e. STF was landed in the rugged forest. STF Chief Amitabh Yash was entrusted with the responsibility of killing Gauri Yadav, the last dacoit of Bundelkhand. UP STF killed Dacoit Gauri Yadav in an encounter in 2021.
