After 1988 batch senior IAS officer Juthika Patankar and 2003 batch IAS officer Vikas Gothalwal, another UP cadre IAS officer has sought VRS. Senior IAS officer Renuka Kumar posted on deputation at the Center has created a stir in the bureaucracy by applying for VRS instead of returning to UP.
Renuka Kumar, a 1987 batch IAS officer, is counted among the top most officers of the Yogi government. After going on central deputation, Renuka Kumar was posted as Secretary in important department like Ministry of Minority Welfare. Before going on central deputation in June 2021, Renuka was posted in several important posts in the Yogi government. He had the responsibility of important departments like Basic Education and Revenue. In this government, Renuka also handled important departments like Forest and Environment, Women’s Welfare and Mining.
Earlier, IAS officer Gothanwal was sought VRS citing personal reason. He is on study leave at the moment and has given health as the reason for seeking VRS. He has previously done a good job in the state as a secretary in important departments, infrastructure and industrial development. He is recognized as one of the best administrative officers of UP. While Juthika Patankar, a 1988 batch IAS officer, has also demanded VRS citing personal reasons.
