Women Topper Anu Kumari Awarded President’s Gold Medal

Ms. Anu Kumari (AIR 2, 2018-batch) was awarded the President’s Gold Medal and a certificate for her excellent performance during the training period. Whereas Anudeep Durishetty (AIR 1, 2018) grabbed the second position and Ms. Saumya Sharma got the third position.

Recommended Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) aspirants after clearing the exam are invited for a two-year-long training program at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA). During this period, the Officer Trainees (OTs) advance through various phases of training which include Foundation Course (FC), Phase-I training, District Training, Phase-II training, and Assistant Secretary-ship. After the completion of this training program, the best deserving Officer Trainee of that batch is awarded the President Gold Medal by the President of India every year.

Anu Kumari’s felicitation was all the more significant because she besides being an outstanding scholar, is the mother of a toddler. She is a shining example of work-life balance. Indian Masterminds has recently profiled her struggles and career which can be accessed at indianmasterminds.com.

Every year the OTs attend the ceremony at LBSNAA, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic this year, the ceremony was conducted virtually. A video conference call was conducted in which the President of India addressing the 2018-batch officers on the valedictory ceremony of their Phase-II Professional Course.

OTHER AWARDS

Apart from this, various other awards were announced on the occasion of the completion of the training program.

Mr. Rituraj and Mr. Azar Zia jointly shared the Director’s Gold Medal & Certificate for excellence in non-Academic activities. Mr. Azar Zia was also awarded Ashok Bambawale Memorial Award & Certificate. Mr. Manish Kumar got the second position whereas, Mr. Subhankar Mohapatra stood third.

Mr. Rishi Raj got the Akshat Gupta memorial Award for Best Dissertation in IAS Professional Course Phase -II. Whereas, Mr. Fazlul Haseeb and Mr. Ankurjeet Singh jointly shared the second position.

Mr. Swapneel Paul has been awarded the L. V. Reddy Memorial Award (Shield & Certificate). Mr. Abhilash Baranwal came second and Mr. Rahul Ratnam Pandey stood third.

Ms. Ashima Mittal secured the first position for G. Krishnaiya Memorial Award (Shield & Certificate). Whereas Ms. Jyoti Sharma stood 2nd and Ms. Priyadarshini Bhattacharya, Mr. Azar Zia Jointly shared the third position.

Mr. Rituraj who was also awarded Director’s Gold Medal & Certificate for excellence in non-Academic activities has been also awarded the Subhash Dua Memorial Gold Medal. Mr. Azar Zia stood second and Mr. Manish Kumar grabbed the third position. Lastly, a gold medal and certificate has been given to Ms. Aparna Gupta for the Golden Jubilee Retreat Award. Mr. Rituraj came second and Ms. Pushp Lata grabbed the third position
