New Delhi: The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) is gearing up for a key leadership expansion as the Selection Committee has finalized dates for personal interactions with 15 senior Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officers shortlisted for the three vacant Member posts on the Board.
Selection Committee Schedules Interaction Dates
The Selection Committee meetings are scheduled on December 29, 2025, and January 2, 2026, ahead of the Union Budget 2026 presentation. In line with standard selection norms, five candidates are called for interaction for each vacant post, leading to three appointments from the 15 shortlisted officers.
This process is being closely observed within the service, given the strategic importance of these posts in indirect tax collection, policy formulation, and CBIC administration.

Shortlisted Officers and Batches
The shortlisted officers hail from the 1990, 1991, and 1992 IRS (C&IT) batches and were chosen based on their seniority and residual service of at least one year, with some officers having service extending until 2023.
