The event will take place on March 11, 2026, at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi.

The seminar is being organised under the aegis of the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS) as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.

The objective of the seminar is to analyse emerging geopolitical developments in India’s neighbourhood and discuss their implications for the country’s strategic and security environment.

Gathering of Military Leaders, Diplomats and Strategic Experts

The seminar will bring together a wide range of participants, including:

  • Senior military leaders
  • Diplomats and foreign policy experts
  • Strategic affairs scholars
  • Policy practitioners and security analysts

The discussions will focus on developments in neighbouring countries and how these changes could influence India’s regional security strategy and defence preparedness.

Experts are expected to analyse key geopolitical trends and propose strategic responses to evolving regional challenges.

CENJOWS Seminar: Launch of Key Defence Technology Initiatives

During the inaugural session, several important initiatives related to defence technology and military education will be launched.

AI in Military Domain

One of the major initiatives includes the introduction of Artificial Intelligence applications in the military domain, aimed at improving operational efficiency, decision-making, and modern warfare capabilities.

Samvad Application

The Samvad Application, developed by the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR) under DRDO, will also be launched.

The application is expected to strengthen secure communication and collaboration within defence systems.

Integrated Online Training and Evaluation Programme (IOTEP)

Another key initiative is the Integrated Online Training and Evaluation Programme (IOTEP) developed by the Indian Defence University (IDU Directorate).

This programme will support modern military education and training through digital platforms.

Importance of the CENJOWS Seminar

India’s neighbourhood is undergoing rapid geopolitical shifts due to:

  • Changing power dynamics in Asia
  • Strategic competition among global powers
  • Regional security challenges

By bringing together policymakers, military leaders and experts, the seminar aims to build a deeper understanding of these developments and strengthen India’s strategic preparedness and defence policy planning.

Such discussions also help shape future defence strategies and strengthen India’s role as a major security stakeholder in the region.
