New Delhi: As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen policy execution and administrative capacity at the central level, the Government of India has announced the appointment of two senior officers from the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS) to important roles in Delhi and Chennai under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS).
IRS Officer Arpitha S Joins Ministry of Information & Broadcasting
Ms. Arpitha S, a 2015-batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes), has been appointed as Deputy Secretary, Digital Media, in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, New Delhi. Her appointment is under the Central Staffing Scheme and is for a tenure of four years.
Arpitha S brings to the position a background in tax administration and public policy and is expected to contribute significantly to the government’s digital communication and media strategy, especially as digital platforms continue to shape public discourse.
IFS Officer Rangaswamy E Posted to MoEF&CC Regional Office in Chennai
Rangaswamy E, a 2017-batch Indian Forest Service officer of the Rajasthan cadre, has been appointed as Assistant Inspector General of Forests (AIGF) at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India, in Chennai.
Currently serving as Deputy Conservator of Forests in Dungarpur, Rajasthan, Rangaswamy’s deputation is on a tenure basis under the Central Staffing Scheme of the MoEF&CC. His appointment aligns with the Centre’s push to bolster regional oversight and policy implementation in the domain of forest and environmental governance.
