UP: In a significant development for the Indian Police Service (IPS), the Union Government has approved the central deputation of three senior officers from the Uttar Pradesh cadre. These officers have been empanelled to hold the rank of Director General (DG) or equivalent at the Centre.
Officers Selected for Central Deputation
The officers selected for central deputation are:
- Akhil Kumar (1994 batch): Currently serving as the Police Commissioner of Kanpur Nagar.
- Prakash D (1994 batch): Serving as the Additional Director General (ADG) of Railways.
- Sujit Pandey (1994 batch): Serving as the ADG of Lucknow Zone.
Additionally, Raja Srivastava, also empanelled for the DG-equivalent position, is presently posted as ADG in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

The empanelment of these officers is part of the Centre’s ongoing effort to strengthen the leadership of central law enforcement agencies.
