New Delhi: The 1989 batch senior IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre, Mr Rajesh Aggarwal has been entrusted with additional charge of the post of Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs. He is currently serving as Secretary in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan).
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (May 13, 2025), the competent authority has approved Mr. Aggarwal’s temporary appointment to the additional role from May 14 to May 23, 2025, during the leave period of Chandra Sekhar Kumar (IAS: 1992: Odisha cadre), the current Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
This interim arrangement ensures continuity in administrative functioning at the Ministry of Minority Affairs during Kumar’s absence. Rajesh Aggarwal is a seasoned bureaucrat with extensive experience in social welfare and policy implementation.
