NEW DELHI: The Central Government on Friday issued a series of appointment and service-related notifications involving senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers.
According to the official orders, Sudhansh Pant (IAS: 1991: RJ), currently serving as Secretary, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI).
He will hold the additional responsibility till May 31, 2026, during the leave period of Saurabh Garg (IAS: 1991: OR), who is presently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
Dr Pooja Joshi Prematurely Repatriated to Parent AGMUT Cadre
In another significant order, Dr Pooja Joshi (IAS: 2011: AGMUT), who was serving as General Manager of the Tribal Co-operative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) in Bengaluru under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, has been prematurely repatriated to her parent AGMUT cadre on personal grounds.
The official notification confirmed that the competent authority approved her premature repatriation before completion of her central deputation tenure.
Dr Joshi has been serving with TRIFED, a key organisation working for the socio-economic development and marketing support of tribal communities across India.
Administrative Changes Issued by Centre
The latest orders are part of routine administrative reshuffles and additional charge arrangements issued by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Such interim arrangements are generally made to ensure continuity in governance and smooth functioning of ministries during the absence of senior officials.
