The government will conduct interviews for the position of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) at the Maharatna PSU Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) on November 13th. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is a leading state-owned oil and natural gas company in India, primarily engaged in the refining, distribution, and marketing of petroleum products. Headquartered in Mumbai, HPCL operates a wide network of fuel stations across the country and plays a key role in India’s energy sector.
The order, dated November 5th, reads, “The undersigned is directed to inform that the Chairperson of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has scheduled a meeting of the Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC) for the position of Chairman & Managing Director, HPCL, on November 13, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM via Video Conferencing (VC).“
Earlier this year, the PESB conducted interviews for the HPCL CMD role in June but did not identify a suitable candidate. Following this, a three-member Search-cum-Selection Committee was formed in August to continue the search for the right candidate for the top post at HPCL. Currently, Mr. Rajneesh Narang, the Director (Finance) at HPCL, holds the additional charge of CMD.
