The Centre has ordered the transfer of five IPS officers from Delhi, a move that comes ahead of the assembly elections expected in February next year. Among the key transfers, Ms. Manishi Chandra, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Delhi Police Commissioner, has been posted to Mizoram.
The IPS Transferees Are:
- Mr. B L Suresh, a 2001-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh.
- Mr. Rajneesh Garg, a 2002-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from Delhi to Ladakh.
- Dr. G Ram Gopal Naik, a 2002-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh.
- Mr. Hareesh H P, a 2003-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from Delhi to Jammu & Kashmir.
- Mr. Manishi Chandra, a 2004-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from Delhi to Mizoram.

This reshuffle follows an earlier transfer of several ACPs, SHOs, and inspector-level officers in Delhi on December 11th. The timing of the transfers coincides with heightened political activity in the national capital as it prepares for elections.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has criticized the Modi government, highlighting the Centre’s responsibility for Delhi’s law and order, which is managed by the Union Home Ministry.
