The policy is aimed at helping former Agniveers find government employment after completing their military service.

Chhattisgarh Agniveer Reservation 2026: Who Can Get the Benefit

According to the official announcement, the reservation will be available only to Agniveers who:

  • Complete four years of service under the Agnipath Scheme.
  • Are discharged with a valid service certificate.

Only candidates meeting these conditions will be eligible for the reservation benefit during direct recruitment.

Why Was This Decision Taken

The Chhattisgarh Government said the move will:

  • Use the discipline, training and experience gained during military service in state government departments.
  • Support the smooth transition of trained youth into civilian government jobs.

Wider Push for Employment of Ex-Agniveers

The Chhattisgarh decision comes as governments continue to introduce employment opportunities for former Agniveers.
