Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai unveiled the State Budget for FY 2026–27, describing it as a roadmap for “Sankalp Se Siddhi” (Resolution to Realisation). The budget emphasizes inclusive development, infrastructure expansion, investment promotion, skill creation, and holistic progress, particularly in the tribal regions of Bastar and Surguja.
Budget Anchored on “Sankalp” and Inclusive Growth
The Chief Minister highlighted that the first and second state budgets were themed “GYAN” and “GATI,” respectively, while this year’s budget focuses on “SANKALP”, marking a decisive step toward a developed Chhattisgarh aligned with Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision for Viksit Bharat 2047.
The budget prioritizes:
- Inclusive growth across all regions
- Strengthening infrastructure and investment promotion
- Creation of skilled human resources
- Livelihood enhancement and effective policy-to-outcome strategies
Flagship Chief Minister Missions for Accelerated Development
CM Vishnu Deo Sai announced five mission-mode initiatives to drive development:
- CM Infrastructure Mission
- CM AI Mission
- CM Tourism Development Mission
- CM Startup Mission
- CM Sports Excellence Mission
These missions aim to provide sharper focus, faster momentum, and new direction for multi-sectoral growth in the state.
Education and Skill Development as a Core Focus
Education receives 13.5% of the total budget, the highest allocation among departments. Key initiatives include:
- Establishment of Education Cities in Abujhmad and Jagargunda (Bastar) to ensure quality schooling for tribal and remote students
- Cashless treatment facilities for government employees
- Enhancing skills and livelihood opportunities for youth
Agriculture and Rural Development Priorities
Acknowledging Chhattisgarh as the “Rice Bowl of India,” CM Sai allocated ₹13,500 crore for agriculture, including:
- Continuation of single-installment paddy procurement at ₹3,100 per quintal
- Promotion of food processing, goat rearing, piggery, and beekeeping in Bastar and Surguja
- Irrigation expansion with over ₹2,000 crore for Devargaon and Matnar barrages on the Indravati River
Industrial, Urban, and Tourism Development
- ₹250 crore allocated to establish 23 new industrial parks
- ₹200 crore for Mukhyamantri Adarsh Shaher Samriddhi Yojana
- ₹200 crore for Bhumi Vikas Bank to strengthen financial support systems
- ₹10 crore for Homestay Scheme to boost tourism and local employment
Health, Connectivity, and Youth Engagement
The budget also focuses on:
- Operationalization of medical colleges in Kunkuri, Manendragarh, Kabirdham, Janjgir-Champa, and Dantewada
- Expansion of Jagdalpur–Ambikapur air services
- Introduction of Mukhyamantri Bus Service in interior regions
- Organization of Bastar and Surguja Olympics to promote sports and youth engagement
- Enhancing Vyapam efficiency and launching Chhattisgarh Yuva Darshan Yojana for educational exposure visits
Special Focus on Bastar and Surguja Development
The government prioritizes holistic development of tribal regions:
- Special allocations for industrial, agricultural, and allied sector development
- Recruitment of 1,500 new Bastar Fighters to support security and stability
- Support for livelihoods and income-generating activities
CM Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated Finance Minister Mr. O.P. Choudhary and his team, emphasizing that the budget reflects the aspirations of the people of Chhattisgarh. He expressed confidence that the FY 2026–27 budget will be a milestone in driving inclusive development, economic growth, and prosperity that reaches the last mile.
