Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai , the Chhattisgarh Cabinet convened at the Chief Minister’s residence in Civil Lines and approved several landmark decisions aimed at driving the state’s development across education, industry, healthcare, and revenue sectors.
The decisions taken during the Cabinet meeting are set to enhance the quality of education, promote startups, strengthen healthcare services, and streamline governance in the state.
Approval of Chhattisgarh Excise Policy 2026-27
- The Cabinet approved the state Excise Policy for the financial year 2026-27.
- Departments have been authorized to implement all necessary procedures under the policy.
- This policy is expected to improve governance and regulatory compliance in the state’s revenue and excise framework.
Establishment of NMIMS Campus in Nava Raipur
- The Cabinet granted approval for Vilay Parle Kalawani Mandal (SVKM) to establish the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) on approximately 40 acres of land in Sector-18, Nava Raipur, on a 90-year lease.
- SVKM, a prestigious educational trust operational since 1934, runs 30 institutes serving over 1 lakh students annually, from pre-primary to doctoral programs.
- NMIMS ranked 52nd in the NIRF University Rankings 2025 and will provide world-class education in Chhattisgarh, strengthening higher education infrastructure and opportunities in the state.
Launch of Four Entrepreneurship Centers
- The Cabinet approved an MoU with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) to establish four new entrepreneurship centers in Nava Raipur.
- These centers aim to promote IT, ITES, and technology startups in AI, MedTech, Smart City, and Smart Agriculture sectors.
- Over the next 3–5 years, the initiative plans to support 133 domain-specific startups.
- An Electronics System Design and Development (ESDD) center will also be established to assist 30–40 hardware startups and MSMEs annually in prototyping and product development.
Strengthening Laboratory Services in Healthcare Institutions
- The Cabinet approved measures to enhance laboratory services across district hospitals, community health centers, and primary health centers in the state.
- The initiative aims to ensure high-quality testing, increase testing capacity, and upgrade existing facilities to meet established standards.
- This move will improve diagnostic services and accessibility of healthcare for residents across Chhattisgarh.
