Raipur: In a grand development event held in Suhela village of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development works worth Rs. 195.26 crore. The program highlighted the state government’s commitment to fulfilling Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s guarantees of housing, clean water, electricity, and social welfare benefits for all citizens.
Housing and Welfare Schemes Benefiting Thousands
Chief Minister Mr. Sai handed over the keys to 1,073 newly constructed houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural). Additionally, 3,000 women received gas connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, and 5,000 farmers received land ownership documents through the Pradhan Mantri Swamitva Yojana. Beneficiaries under various other schemes were also distributed materials and checks during the program.
Mr. Sai emphasized, “Our government is working diligently to ensure that every household has a pucca house, toilet, clean drinking water, and access to the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme.” He also highlighted that Chhattisgarh is celebrating 25 years as a separate state, marking its Silver Jubilee by fulfilling PM Modi’s pre-poll guarantees.

Support to Farmers and Women
The Chief Minister announced several welfare measures for farmers –
- Paddy procurement at Rs. 3,100 per quintal with a 21 quintal per acre limit.
- Increase in tendu leaf collection rate to Rs. 5,500 per standard bag.
- Payment of outstanding bonuses for two years.
Women are benefiting from Mahtari Vandan Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, while the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Yojana is facilitating free electricity and solar panel subsidies for households.
Mr. Sai praised the district administration’s ‘We Will Succeed’ initiative, which has trained over 500 youths according to their interests, creating opportunities for skill development and employment.
Infrastructure and Education Development Announcements
Several key development projects were announced by the Chief Minister during the program –
- New Government College in Suhela
- Community Health Center building in Tilda
- Girls’ Higher Secondary School building in Balodabazar
- New commercial complex in Balodabazar
- Sheds for farmers at 50 paddy procurement centers (Rs. 10 lakh each)
Road improvements including dividers and lighting at Suhela T Junction

- Risda bypass road: Rs. 20.98 crore
- Indoor stadium complex in Balodabazar: Rs. 15.59 crore
- 717 PMAY houses: Rs. 8.60 crore
- Sungera Anicut across Kolhan drain: Rs. 8.04 crore
Distribution of Materials and Financial Support
Beneficiaries received materials and checks worth over Rs. 5 crore, including –
- Recovery of Rs. 27 lakh in a cyber fraud case
- Rs. 83 lakh under Labor Department schemes
- Post-matric scholarships worth Rs. 4.25 crore to 8,333 students
- Rs. 25 lakh to 16 women under self-help groups and the ‘Saksham’ scheme
- Rs. 9.69 lakh under Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Program
- Rs. 6.81 lakh under ‘Hum Honge Kamyab’ scheme
