Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the inauguration ceremony of the Cosmo Trade & Build Fair Expo, organized by the Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Raipur, at the state capital on Friday. The event, which is now in its 16th year, is considered Central India’s largest trade expo, featuring over 300 stalls across multiple sectors, highlighting the state’s business potential and entrepreneurial talent.
Boosting Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth
During his address, CM Sai emphasized the critical role of entrepreneurs in building a developed Chhattisgarh. He highlighted that the state government is working across all sectors for the upliftment of every community.
The Chief Minister also noted the recent GST reforms, which have reduced rates on several commodities and simplified the overall process, providing direct benefits to consumers and improving the business environment. He added that Chhattisgarh’s new industrial policy has received appreciation nationally and internationally, with investment proposals worth over ₹8 lakh crore already under consideration. The government has begun implementing these projects, focusing on employment generation, with special incentives for entrepreneurs creating over 1,000 jobs.

Recognition for Women Entrepreneurs and Social Contributions
In a key highlight of the event, CM Sai honored 25 women entrepreneurs for their contributions across various sectors. A book focusing on these women entrepreneurs was also released during the ceremony, aimed at inspiring future generations.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a Mobile Eye Clinic ambulance, reinforcing the state’s commitment to public health and community services.
Rotary Club’s Role and Expo Significance
CM Sai acknowledged the Rotary Club’s dual role in promoting entrepreneurship and social welfare. He appreciated the club’s notable contributions in polio eradication and other community initiatives. The expo, he added, would benefit the entire state by providing a platform for businesses to showcase their products and innovations.
Raipur MP Brijmohan Agrawal also praised CM Sai’s leadership, noting that Chhattisgarh is progressing rapidly on the path of development, supported by substantial investments across all sectors. Senior officials, including former Chief Principal Conservator of Forests Rakesh Chaturvedi, and Rotary Club members, along with a large gathering of citizens, attended the event.
