Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met with doctors and medical students in Raipur on Sunday at his official residence. The delegation expressed their gratitude for the allocation of two DM Cardiology seats in the state, a development that will enhance specialized cardiac care and increase the availability of expert doctors for heart-related treatments.
Gratitude for DM Cardiology Seats
Medical professionals and students highlighted that the addition of two DM Cardiology seats will significantly improve healthcare services for patients with serious heart conditions. It will also help strengthen the state’s cardiac care infrastructure and train more specialists to meet the growing demand for advanced medical care in Chhattisgarh.
The doctors and students specifically thanked Chief Minister Sai for his efforts and leadership in securing the seats, while also expressing appreciation to Jagdish Prakash Nadda for supporting Chhattisgarh in this crucial healthcare initiative.
Government’s Commitment to Healthcare Expansion
CM Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized that the state government is committed to improving healthcare facilities across Chhattisgarh. He noted that the government is working to ensure that quality and reliable healthcare services reach every citizen, including in remote and rural areas.
The Chief Minister also highlighted that existing health centers are being strengthened and that high-level medical facilities are being planned to provide advanced treatments locally, reducing the need for patients to travel to other states.
Growth of Medical Education in Chhattisgarh
Reflecting on the progress in medical education, CM Sai mentioned that Chhattisgarh once had only one medical college with 100-150 seats. Today, the state boasts 14 medical colleges offering around 1,400 seats, providing more opportunities for students to pursue medical education and helping address the shortage of qualified healthcare professionals in the state.
Upcoming Medico City in Naya Raipur
The Chief Minister also shared plans for the Medico City in Naya Raipur, which will host multiple super-specialty hospitals. This initiative aims to provide advanced healthcare locally, reduce the need for patients to seek treatment outside the state, and further strengthen Chhattisgarh’s medical infrastructure.
Collaborative Efforts Between State and Central Government
CM Sai acknowledged the collaborative efforts between the state and central governments to enhance healthcare facilities in Chhattisgarh. He emphasized that initiatives like the DM Cardiology seat allocation reflect joint efforts to improve medical education and patient care across the state.
Several medical students and professionals, including Tulsiram Kaushik and Dr. Devendra Kashyap, attended the meeting, highlighting the enthusiastic support of the state’s medical community for these initiatives.
