Raipur: The Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 concluded with grandeur at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur, marking a proud and energetic moment for Chhattisgarh. The event provided a significant platform for tribal youth from across the country to showcase their sporting talent.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the closing ceremony, celebrating the achievements of local athletes and highlighting the state’s commitment to promoting sports among tribal communities.
Chhattisgarh Athletes Shine on National Stage
The state’s athletes excelled in the competition, securing 3 gold medals and a total of 19 medals, elevating Chhattisgarh’s reputation at the national level. CM Sai praised the young athletes for their remarkable performances and emphasized the importance of encouraging youth participation in sports.
To motivate and reward athletes, the state government announced the following incentive scheme:
- Individual Events: Gold – ₹2 lakh, Silver – ₹1.5 lakh, Bronze – ₹1 lakh
- Team Events: Gold – ₹1 lakh, Silver – ₹75,000, Bronze – ₹50,000
This initiative aims to boost morale and recognize the dedication of the state’s budding sports talent.
Recognition from Prime Minister Modi and Sports Ministry
CM Sai expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, for their support in making the Khelo India Tribal Games a reality. He noted that the event not only provided a competitive platform but also gave tribal youth nationwide an opportunity to fulfill their sporting aspirations.
Commitment to Annual Sports Events in Chhattisgarh
Highlighting the significance of hosting such events, CM Sai stated that Chhattisgarh is honored to have been selected for this national-level competition. He assured that similar sports events will be organized annually, promoting athletic talent across the state.
CM Sai also shared his excitement on social media, describing the closing ceremony as a “proud and energetic moment” and celebrating the state’s athletes for their outstanding achievements.
CM Sai on West Bengal Elections
In addition to the sports event, CM Sai briefly addressed the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections. He mentioned that state ministers are participating in election campaigns and expressed confidence in the public’s support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), predicting a strong performance in the elections.
