Raipur: In a step that promises to advance Chhattisgarh’s industrial growth and generate new employment opportunities, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the newly established unit of Aspire Pharmaceuticals in Nava Raipur on Saturday. This inauguration is viewed as a pivotal moment in the state’s growing pharmaceutical sector, reflecting the vision of a self-reliant and self-sustained Chhattisgarh.

From Pandemic Challenge to Industrial Triumph

In his address at the event, CM Sai reflected on how the idea of setting up the Aspire Pharmaceuticals unit was born during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At a time when the world was facing shortages of essential medicines, the need for local production became paramount. Today, this vision has turned into reality,” said the Chief Minister.

He noted that India, especially during the pandemic, had showcased its capability by developing indigenous vaccines, strengthening the country’s position in the global pharmaceutical industry.

Chhattisgarh’s New Industrial Policy: Attracting Investments and Generating Employment

CM Sai emphasized that Chhattisgarh’s new industrial policy has been attracting significant investments, with proposals exceeding ₹6 lakh crore in the past 7-8 months alone.

The government is prioritizing the creation of employment opportunities through industrial development, offering special incentives to investors,” he said, highlighting that several projects are already underway.

The Chief Minister also reiterated that Nava Raipur is becoming the focal point of industrial growth due to its strategic location and robust infrastructure.

Chhattisgarh’s 25 Years of Progress: Acknowledging Past Contributions

In the same speech, CM Vishnu Deo Sai acknowledged the contributions of former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, particularly in healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

Dr. Singh laid a strong foundation for the state in key sectors like health, education, and infrastructure,” CM Sai said, noting that Chhattisgarh’s journey from a newly formed state to its silver jubilee year has been marked by significant progress.

He further pointed out the remarkable growth in the state’s healthcare sector, from just one medical college at the time of Chhattisgarh’s formation to 15 medical colleges today. Initiatives like Ayushman Bharat and the Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme are making healthcare accessible and free for the state’s residents.

A Vision for a Developed Chhattisgarh: ‘Viksit Chhattisgarh 2047’

CM Vishnu Deo Sai unveiled the state’s ambitious economic goal under the “Viksit Chhattisgarh 2047” initiative. He shared that the state’s current Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) stands at ₹5 lakh crore, and the government aims to double this to ₹10 lakh crore by 2030 and expand it to ₹75 lakh crore by 2047.

This ambitious target can only be achieved with the active cooperation of the people of Chhattisgarh,” he emphasized.

State-of-the-Art Technology at Aspire Pharmaceuticals

During his visit, the Chief Minister praised the advanced technology used in the newly built unit. The fully automated facility will manufacture a variety of products, including tablets, syrups, ointments, and creams.

This expansion will create numerous employment opportunities for local youth, further boosting the region’s economic prospects,” said CM Sai.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh also attended the event, emphasizing the importance of India’s pharmaceutical sector, especially after the global recognition of India’s capabilities during the COVID-19 crisis. He remarked that India’s pharmaceutical industry had played a key role during the pandemic when countries worldwide relied on Indian medical infrastructure. Dr. Singh also lauded the Nava Raipur area for its role in the state’s industrial development, highlighting its logistical advantages and proximity to major transport routes.

The new Aspire Pharmaceuticals unit is a significant step in boosting the pharmaceutical sector of Chhattisgarh and will bring fresh momentum to the development of Nava Raipur,” Dr. Singh said.
