New Delhi: The Indian Army and NITI Aayog held a high-level meeting to explore integration of frontier technologies into India’s defence ecosystem. The dialogue was jointly chaired by Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi and NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam.

The engagement brought together senior military leaders and civilian experts to deliberate on how emerging innovations can strengthen the Army’s preparedness for evolving challenges.

Harnessing Innovation for a Future-Ready Army

The discussion focused on leveraging cutting-edge technologies across domains such as artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and advanced materials. The goal is to accelerate India’s transition toward a “Future Ready Army,” capable of meeting dynamic operational demands.

Both sides highlighted the importance of indigenous research and innovation to ensure long-term technological sovereignty. The initiative directly aligns with the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047.

Civil–Military Synergy in Technology Development

The dialogue marks an important step in bridging military requirements with India’s growing civil innovation ecosystem. By fostering convergence between defence institutions and domestic technology developers, the initiative aims to build dual-use solutions that strengthen both national security and industrial growth.

The interaction reaffirmed a shared commitment to integrating indigenous capabilities into the Army’s modernization pathway, ensuring robust, responsive, and future-proof defence preparedness.
