Jageshwar: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the renowned Jageshwar Dham temple complex on Tuesday, where he performed prayers and sought the well-being, peace, and prosperity of the state. During his visit, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for six significant development projects worth ₹76.78 crore.
The visit included a walkthrough of the temple premises, where CM Dhami reviewed the Jageshwar Dham Master Plan with local authorities. He stressed the importance of completing all projects within the stipulated time frame and with high-quality standards.
A Vision for Jageshwar Dham’s Transformation
Addressing the media, CM Dhami stated, “Jageshwar is not only a center of faith and devotion but also holds immense cultural and historical significance for the people of Uttarakhand and beyond. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that this sacred site receives the divine and grand transformation it deserves.”
He further highlighted that with the growing number of pilgrims visiting the Dham every year, there is a need for improving basic infrastructure. This would ensure a comfortable and seamless experience for devotees, enhancing the religious tourism potential of the area. He also pointed out that the development of both the Jageshwar and the Vridha Jageshwar sites, which have deep mythological, cultural, and religious value, is crucial for preserving the rich legacy of the place.
CM Dhami emphasized that the overall development of Jageshwar Dham would not only strengthen the spiritual significance of the site but also elevate it to global prominence. He added that the projects would open up employment opportunities and provide economic empowerment for the local community, particularly through the creation of tourism-related jobs and infrastructure.
Inauguration and Groundbreaking of Key Development Projects
The Chief Minister inaugurated the following key projects aimed at enhancing the local infrastructure:
- Improvement of Danya-Se-Ara-Salpard Motor Road – A vital connectivity project to improve road access.
- Upgradation of the Chaykhan to Thuasiml Motor Road – A much-needed initiative to improve road quality in a high-traffic region.
- 33/11 KV Substation in Satyun – A new substation to ensure stable and efficient power supply to the region.
Additionally, CM Dhami laid the foundation for the following new projects that will enhance education and infrastructure in the area:
- Construction of the Government Polytechnic Salt Campus – A new building to support educational growth in the region.
- Residential Complex Construction in Danya – To provide housing facilities for educational staff and other stakeholders.
- Mechanical Building at Government Polytechnic Dwarahat – A new facility aimed at enhancing technical education and skill development.
