CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Announces Key Welfare Measures for PRD Personnel on Establishment Day in Dehradun

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Establishment Day celebrations of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PRD) in Dehradun, where he took the salute during the ceremonial parade and extended his heartfelt greetings to all PRD personnel. The occasion also saw the announcement of several key welfare measures and benefits for PRD staff, aimed at enhancing their professional and personal well-being.

CM Dhami lauded the PRD personnel for their unwavering dedication in maintaining law and order, assisting the administration, and ensuring public safety. He highlighted their critical role during natural disasters and large public events such as the Char Dham Yatra, praising their discipline, patience, and commitment in safeguarding citizens and pilgrims.

Major Announcements for PRD Personnel

  • Establishment of a dedicated training institute for PRD personnel to strengthen skills and operational readiness.
  • PRD personnel hospitalized during duty will be considered as serving on duty, with salary continuation for up to six months during medical treatment.
  • Scholarships for children of PRD personnel who achieve outstanding results in examinations.
  • Financial assistance for dependents of deceased personnel, with increased ex-gratia amounts:
    • Death during riots: from ₹1 lakh to ₹2 lakh
    • Death during highly sensitive duties: from ₹75,000 to ₹1.5 lakh
  • Lump sum service allowance of ₹18 lakh for PRD personnel retiring after 10 years of service.

Government Recognition of PRD Contributions

CM Dhami emphasized that the welfare measures reflect the government’s commitment to supporting and honoring PRD personnel. He acknowledged their essential contribution to traffic management, security, administrative support, and disaster response, highlighting the force’s role in protecting public safety and ensuring smooth functioning across the state.

The Chief Minister also recognized the PRD personnel’s dedication during sensitive operations and public events, expressing gratitude for their steadfast service and emphasizing that these initiatives would strengthen morale, incentivize excellence, and safeguard the interests of personnel and their families.
