Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai addressed the Budhadav Mahotsav organized by the Gauda community in Kondagaon, emphasizing the state’s progress in reducing Naxalism. He highlighted that under the ‘Niyad Nellanar’ scheme, remote villagers are being connected to key government welfare initiatives, driving inclusive development across Bastar and other regions of the state.
The CM noted that in just under two years, the government has fulfilled most short-term commitments, paving the way for a prosperous Chhattisgarh.
Inauguration of Rs 127 Crore Development Projects
During the event, CM Sai inaugurated and laid the foundation for 61 development projects worth Rs 127 crore. Some key announcements include:
- Construction of a 100-seater hostel for Scheduled Tribe girls in Kudhura village (Rs 2.71 crore)
- Road projects: Konugud to Dhanora route (Rs 90 lakh), Keshkal to Vishrampuri route (Rs 39 crore)
- Allocation of Rs 1.5 crore for multipurpose centers, centers for differently-abled individuals, and coaching facilities
Additionally, the CM released the Journey of Dignity: Story of NRLM Kondagaon coffee table book, early childhood care booklet, helpline numbers for high-risk pregnancies, helmet bank initiative, and the “Suposhit Vikas” development chart.

Focus on Education and Farmers’ Welfare
CM Sai emphasized the importance of education, stating that “to be a good farmer, entrepreneur, public servant, or politician, quality education is essential.” He urged citizens to prioritize children’s education while highlighting ongoing welfare schemes:
- Mahatari Vandan Yojana
- Tendupatta Collector Welfare Scheme
- Charan Paduka Yojana
- Rice procurement initiated from November 15, 2025
- 18 lakh housing units approved across the state
Cultural Welcome and Community Engagement
The CM was warmly welcomed with a traditional ensemble of Mohri musical instruments. He also performed rituals at the Budhadav deity and planted saplings, wishing for the well-being of the local population.
The event saw participation from senior ministers, MPs, MLAs, former legislators, and leaders of the Gauda community, reflecting widespread local support for the government’s developmental initiatives.
Towards Inclusive Development and Naxal Reduction
The Chief Minister reiterated that schemes like Niyad Nellanar are not only improving infrastructure and livelihoods in remote areas but also contributing to the gradual reduction of Naxal influence in Bastar. The state government’s focus remains on accelerating rural development while preserving cultural heritage and promoting sustainable growth.
