Welcoming the delegation, the Chief Minister said, “Handloom craftsmanship is not only an economic asset but also a living expression of our cultural identity.”

Government Focus on Reducing Costs and Enhancing Market Access

Mr. Sai highlighted several ongoing initiatives aimed at uplifting the handloom sector. He stated that his administration is working on reducing production costs, ensuring continuous access to raw materials, and strengthening market linkages for handloom products. These efforts, he said, are part of a broader vision to ensure the prosperity, empowerment, and self-reliance of the weavers.

“Self-reliance unlocks the creative spirit of our weavers,” the Chief Minister noted.

Handloom as a Symbol of Indigenous Strength

Citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign, Mr. Sai underscored the importance of celebrating the handloom sector as a symbol of India’s indigenous strength. He said, “The weaving community has kept our cultural consciousness alive through devotion and artistry.”

Accepting the handcrafted loom, he remarked, “This is not just a symbol of respect but a powerful representation of creation, tradition, and community values.”

Chhattisgarh to Continue Promoting Weavers’ Welfare

Chief Minister Sai concluded by reaffirming his government’s commitment to implementing policies that uphold the dignity of weavers and support their livelihoods. He expressed confidence that a new era of prosperity and empowerment has begun for the weaving community in Chhattisgarh.
