Raipur: On the occasion of National Unity Day, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, honoring the nation’s unifier who played a pivotal role in integrating India’s princely states. The ceremony, held in Raipur, emphasized the theme “Unity in Diversity” as the true strength of India.
Tribute at Sardar Patel’s Statue
CM Sai laid floral wreaths at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel statue in Devendra Nagar, highlighting Patel’s indomitable courage and vision that helped build a united India. Speaking on the occasion, he remarked that Patel’s leadership continues to inspire generations and remains a symbol of unwavering commitment to the nation.
Participates in ‘Unity Run’ with Citizens and Students
Following the tribute, CM Vishnu Deo Sai joined students, local representatives, and citizens in the ‘Unity Run’ from Shastri Chowk to Sharda Chowk. The event aimed to promote national integration and convey a strong message of India’s unity and integrity. The enthusiastic participation of the crowd reflected the spirit of solidarity and civic engagement.

The Chief Minister recalled Sardar Patel’s unparalleled dedication, calling him the ‘Iron Man of India’ for his steadfast determination and selfless service to the nation. He highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, the ‘Run for Unity’ has become a nationwide initiative promoting the values of unity, patriotism, and commitment to the country.
Call to Realize ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’
CM Sai urged citizens to embrace the vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” championed by Prime Minister Modi, emphasizing the need for national integration beyond caste, religion, or region. He administered a pledge of unity to attendees, reinforcing the message of shared responsibility and collective pride in India’s diversity.

The event saw participation from a large number of students, elected representatives, and prominent citizens, including Union Minister Juel Oram, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, MLAs Kiran Dev and Purandar Mishra, and Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Iron Craft Development Board, Prafull Vishwakarma.
