The Chief Minister carefully reviewed the progress of each department and expressed concern over slow budget utilisation in some sectors.
Strict Instructions on Timely Budget Utilisation
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed senior officials of all departments to ensure full and timely utilisation of allocated funds. He emphasized that delays in decision-making adversely affect development works and public welfare schemes. Officers were instructed to develop the capacity for swift decision-making so that expenditure targets are met within stipulated timelines.
He made it clear that negligence in budget expenditure would not be tolerated and that responsibility and accountability must be fixed at every level to ensure timely implementation of projects.
Monthly Reviews and Central Fund Follow-Up
The Chief Minister noted that budget utilisation in certain departments remains slow and instructed departmental ministers and officers to conduct monthly coordination meetings to accelerate progress. He also directed the Finance Department to immediately release any pending portions of allocated budgets that have not yet been issued.
For departments receiving funds under Central Government schemes, the Chief Minister instructed ministers, Additional Chief Secretaries, and Principal Secretaries to actively pursue fund releases by visiting Delhi, writing official letters, and following up through regular communication. The Chief Secretary was also asked to take initiative in this regard.
Additionally, the Chief Minister’s Office will identify departments with slow budget utilisation and issue letters to the concerned ministers to ensure corrective action.
