The Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) to implement a range of solar power projects, including ground-mounted, rooftop, and floating solar installations.
Under this agreement, CMPDIL will act as the Project Management Consultant (PMC), overseeing all phases of the project – from initiation through to post-award execution.
The MoA was formally signed by Sudarshan Prasad, GM (E&M)/HoD, CMPDIL, and Sarvesh Kumar, GM (E&M)/HoD, ECL, in the presence of S. Nagachari, Director (Technical/CRD), CMPDIL, along with other senior officials from both organizations.
This collaboration is a significant step toward accelerating ECL’s renewable energy initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions and promoting carbon neutrality.
CMPDIL, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited under the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, specializes in environmental engineering and offers consultancy and engineering services both in India and internationally.
ECL is alos one of the fully owned subsidiaries of Coal India Limited. The company has its headquarters at Sanctoria, in West Bengal. It’s a coal producer. The company was founded in 1975 after nationalisation of coal mines in India. It operates coal mines in Jharkhand and West Bengal states of India. It inherited all the private sector coal mines of the Raniganj Coalfield.
