Ranchi: The Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with WVS HOPE, Ranchi, to provide a dedicated Animal Rescue Ambulance under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative “Karuna”. The MoA was formalized at CMPDIL Headquarters in Ranchi and signed by Dr. Shishir Dutt, General Manager (HRD/CSR), CMPDIL, and Ms. Shalini Sinha, Treasurer, WVS HOPE.
The partnership aims to strengthen animal welfare, support public health, and advance humane stray dog population management in the Ranchi Municipal Area.
Dedicated Animal Rescue Ambulance to Enhance Public Health
Under CSR Project “Karuna,” CMPDIL will fund and support the deployment of a fully equipped Animal Rescue Ambulance. This mobile unit will enable WVS HOPE to respond quickly to calls from citizens, CMPDIL, the Ranchi Municipal Corporation, and other agencies, facilitating stray dog sterilization and anti-rabies vaccination drives.
The ambulance is designed to serve as a central hub for animal birth control, vaccination, and emergency response, ensuring timely and effective outreach across the city.
Focus on Stray Dog Management and Rabies Prevention
The initiative follows a scientific and integrated approach to managing stray dog populations in Ranchi. Key objectives of the program include:
- Controlling the growth of the stray dog population
- Preventing rabies transmission among animals and humans
- Enhancing urban public health and safety
- Promoting humane treatment and welfare of animals
By combining mobility, medical support, and coordinated community outreach, the project strengthens preventive healthcare infrastructure while ensuring the ethical treatment of animals.
Strengthening Community-Centric CSR Commitment
CSR Project “Karuna” reflects CMPDIL’s commitment to people-focused and socially responsible initiatives. Through evidence-based animal welfare programs, the organization contributes not only to community health but also to creating a safe and compassionate urban environment.
