Turtuk, Ladakh: NHPC Limited has successfully concluded Project Shiksha Rath 7.0, its flagship CSR initiative, in seven border villages of Ladakh along the Line of Control (LOC). The programme reaffirmed NHPC’s commitment to nation-building and inclusive growth.
Closing Ceremony at Turtuk
The closing ceremony took place at Government Higher Secondary School, Turtuk, Nubra, in the Union Territory of Ladakh. The event was graced by Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), NHPC; Councilor Gulam Mehndi; and the Village Pradhan. Local villagers, self-help group (SHG) women, and students also participated in the ceremony.
Empowering Women Through Skill Development
During the programme, 30 women received certificates after successfully completing a seven-day Master Training Workshop in tailoring and sewing. The workshop was supported by Usha International under its Silai School initiative. NHPC provided sewing machines, resources, and infrastructure as part of its CSR programme, creating opportunities for sustainable livelihood generation.

Strong Partnerships for Impact
The project was implemented by Samaarambh Foundation, which ensured smooth execution through close coordination with local stakeholders and authorities. The initiative highlights NHPC’s focus on building resilient border communities and empowering women through skill-based training.
