New Delhi:  Apollo Micro Systems defence orders have received a major boost as the Hyderabad-based defence electronics company announced fresh contracts worth ₹213.39 crore. The new orders from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), defence public sector undertakings (DPSUs), and private companies further strengthen Apollo Micro Systems’ role in India’s indigenous defence manufacturing and the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The announcement was made by the company through a regulatory filing with the stock exchanges.

Apollo Micro Systems Ltd. has secured new defence orders worth ₹213.39 crore. According to the company’s stock exchange filing, the contracts have been awarded by DRDO, defence PSUs, and private sector companies in the normal course of business. Apollo Micro Systems Defence Orders: Strengthen Defence Electronics Business

The latest contracts significantly expand Apollo Micro Systems’ order book. The company is known for designing and manufacturing mission-critical electronic systems used in defence, aerospace, and homeland security applications. These new orders are expected to strengthen its position in India’s growing defence electronics sector.

Key Role in Indigenous Precision Weapon Programme

Apollo Micro Systems has recently been empanelled by the Indian Air Force as a Prime Development Agency (PDA) for the Indigenous Precision Range Extension Kit (IPREK) programme under the Make-II category. The IPREK programme aims to convert conventional bombs weighing up to 500 kg into precision-guided glide weapons capable of striking targets from nearly 80 kilometres. This capability allows aircraft to engage targets from safer distances while improving operational effectiveness.

The company clarified that the empanelment itself is not a commercial contract. Revenue will begin only after project sanction orders and procurement contracts are issued.

Recent Apollo Micro Systems Defence Orders Wins

The latest announcement comes just weeks after Apollo Micro Systems secured defence contracts worth ₹134.35 crore. Those orders also came from DRDO, the Indian Navy, defence PSUs, a state government, and private sector customers. The company continues to build a strong pipeline of defence projects across multiple sectors.

Expansion Through Strategic Acquisition

Apollo Micro Systems is also expanding through acquisitions. Recently, it signed an agreement to acquire a 41.33% stake in Premier Explosives Ltd. for around ₹1,550 crore, subject to regulatory approvals. The acquisition is expected to strengthen the company’s presence in defence electronics, explosives, missile systems, and ammunition manufacturing.

Focus on Atmanirbhar Bharat

The company’s latest contracts and strategic expansion align with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. India is increasingly encouraging domestic companies to develop advanced defence technologies and reduce dependence on imports. Apollo Micro Systems has emerged as one of the important private-sector players supporting this objective through indigenous innovation.
