The Indian Naval Sail Training Ship reached Boston on 12 July 2026 after taking part in the Sail4th 250 celebrations in New York. During the ceremonial entry into Boston Harbor, Shri Raghuram Sastry, Consul General of India in Boston, boarded INS Sudarshini.

During the ceremonial entry into Boston Harbor, Shri Raghuram Sastry, Consul General of India in Boston, boarded INS Sudarshini. With the Indian Tricolour flying proudly, the ship sailed past famous Boston landmarks such as Castle Island and the Seaport District before reaching Boston Fish Pier. The ceremony attracted visitors and sailing enthusiasts from around the world.

Shri Raghuram Sastry is a career Indian diplomat who serves as the Consul General of India in Boston, United States.

​As a member of India’s diplomatic corps under the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Sastry has spent years representing India’s strategic and economic interests globally. Earlier in his career, he served in crucial administrative and diplomatic capacities across various Indian missions abroad, including a tenure as the Second Secretary at the Embassy of India in Rabat, Morocco.
