New Delhi: Tri-Services future warfare course 2026 begins at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi on August 3, 2026, according to the Ministry of Defence. The four-week programme aims to prepare officers and experts for future security challenges by focusing on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), cyber warfare, quantum technologies, and multi-domain operations.

Details of Tri-Services Future Warfare Course 2026

The Ministry of Defence announced that the fourth edition of the Tri-Services Future Warfare Course will be conducted under the aegis of the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS). The programme is coordinated by the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS) and will be held at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi.

The course will run for four weeks, bringing together officers from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with representatives from government organisations, academia, industry, and strategic think tanks.

Why The Tri-Services Future Warfare Course 2026 Is Important

Modern conflicts are no longer limited to traditional battlefields. Military forces now need to prepare for cyber attacks, information campaigns, autonomous systems, and operations across land, sea, air, space, and digital domains. The Future Warfare Course is designed to improve strategic thinking, encourage joint planning among the three Services, and strengthen cooperation between the armed forces, industry, researchers, and policymakers.

Building On Earlier Editions

The Future Warfare Course was first introduced in 2024 as an initiative to prepare Indian military officers for rapidly changing security challenges. Since then, the programme has expanded its curriculum by adding more advanced subjects and increasing collaboration with experts from government, academia, and industry.

The latest edition continues this effort by placing greater emphasis on emerging technologies and integrated military operations.
