Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the city’s state-of-the-art double-decker electric tourist bus service, ‘Dekho Meri Delhi’, from Rafi Marg on Friday. The launch event was attended by Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra and other officials. The inaugural ride covered iconic landmarks from India Gate to the Prime Minister Museum, offering a unique experience of Delhi’s heritage and modern infrastructure.
This initiative reflects Delhi government’s vision to combine sustainable urban transport, world-class tourism, and heritage conservation.
Modern Electric Bus for Heritage and Tourism
The 63-seater double-decker bus features a panoramic upper deck, advanced safety measures, and zero-emission electric technology. CM Gupta highlighted that the bus service will allow tourists to experience Delhi’s historic sites and modern developments, including India Mandapam, Yashobhoomi, the new Parliament building, Central Vista, and the Prime Minister Museum, in a single journey.
She stated, “This initiative aligns with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi’, promoting modern urban development while preserving Delhi’s historical and cultural heritage.” The bus also contributes to carbon emission reduction and green transportation goals.

Route and Tourist Experience
The bus service, initiated by the Delhi Tourism Department in partnership with Hinduja Group under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, begins daily at 9:00 AM from Delhi Haat, INA. The route includes:
- Vijay Chowk
- Rashtrapati Bhavan
- North and South Blocks
- National Museum
- National Gallery of Modern Art
- Prime Minister Museum
- National War Memorial
- India Gate
The bus returns to Delhi Haat, INA, completing a comprehensive sightseeing circuit of the city’s heritage and modern landmarks.
Boosting Delhi’s Global Tourism Image
Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra emphasized that the launch is a step toward establishing Delhi as a destination city rather than just a transit hub. He added, “Delhi is home to over 1,200 monuments, offering an unparalleled blend of ancient heritage, colonial legacy, and modern infrastructure. Initiatives like the electric double-decker bus will enhance tourism, live entertainment, and the creator economy while promoting sustainable urban transport.”
The government also plans international events such as film festivals to further position Delhi on the global tourism map.
