Delhi CM Rehna Gupta Inaugurates Key Development Projects in Pitampura and Shalimar Bagh

PU and QU Blocks get new sewer lines and roads; Outer Ring Road upgraded to improve traffic, sanitation, and urban infrastructure in Delhi

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rehna Gupta inaugurated several important development projects in Pitampura and Shalimar Bagh on Friday, focusing on infrastructure improvements, urban drainage, and road modernization. The CM highlighted that these projects are part of a larger plan to address legacy issues in the constituency and ensure better civic amenities for residents.

Sewer Line Upgrades in PU Block

Chief Minister Gupta inaugurated the replacement of old and damaged sewer lines in PU Block, Pitampura. This project aims to resolve longstanding drainage problems in the area, improve sanitation, and ensure a smooth and efficient wastewater management system for residents.

She emphasized that the timely completion of this project will provide much-needed relief to the local population and strengthen the urban infrastructure of the region.

New Roads and Drainage in QU Block

The CM also launched road and drainage construction work in QU Block, addressing local waterlogging issues and improving connectivity within the block. These developments are designed to enhance urban mobility and ensure the smooth flow of traffic during monsoons and other heavy rainfall periods.

Outer Ring Road Road Upgrades

In addition to local block-level projects, Chief Minister Gupta inaugurated the road improvement works on Outer Ring Road, Pitampura, covering key routes including SU-TU-MU, TU-SU-UU, and LU-QU.

She noted that these upgrades would:

  • Improve traffic management and commuter safety
  • Provide smoother and faster connectivity across the area
  • Strengthen the overall urban infrastructure of the city

Focus on Legacy Problems in Shalimar Bagh

Over the past year, the Delhi government has taken concrete steps to resolve legacy infrastructure issues in Shalimar Bagh, particularly in the sectors of health, education, and urban development.

The CM stressed that these initiatives are aimed at delivering better facilities to every street, block, and household, ensuring that citizens directly benefit from well-planned development projects.

Quality and Timely Execution of Projects

Chief Minister Gupta instructed officials to complete all projects within their specified timelines while maintaining high-quality standards. She reaffirmed that the Delhi government is committed to improving urban amenities, sanitation, roads, drainage, and other civic infrastructure across the capital.

“Development will now progress at an even faster pace. We are working systematically to ensure that better facilities reach every citizen,” the CM said.
