New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in Mayur Vihar Phase-2 on Sunday, August 2, 2026, to review healthcare services and assess the facilities available to patients.
During her visit, the Chief Minister interacted directly with patients and their family members to understand their experiences and gather feedback about treatment, medicines, cleanliness and other hospital facilities.
CM Rekha Gupta Interacts with Patients and Families
During the inspection, CM Rekha Gupta visited various wards and spoke to patients and their attendants about the challenges they were facing during treatment.
She sought feedback on several aspects of healthcare services, including:
- Availability of medicines.
- Quality and timely delivery of treatment.
- Behaviour of doctors and hospital staff.
- Facilities available to patients.
- Cleanliness and hygiene within the hospital.
Several patients and family members shared their concerns, suggestions and expectations directly with the Chief Minister. She listened to their feedback and assured that their concerns would be taken seriously.
CM Rekha Gupta said that the experiences and feedback of citizens are important for improving the healthcare system.
CM Reviews Cleanliness and Hygiene at Hospital
The Chief Minister also inspected the cleanliness and hygiene arrangements across the hospital premises.
She directed officials to ensure regular cleaning and proper maintenance in every part of the hospital. She emphasised that maintaining a clean environment in government hospitals is a key responsibility, as proper hygiene is important for both patient care and infection prevention.
Officials Directed to Ensure Medicine Availability
CM Rekha Gupta also reviewed the availability of medicines and the quality of medical services being provided to patients.
She instructed the concerned officials to ensure that patients do not face any difficulties in accessing essential medicines or receiving treatment.
The Chief Minister directed officials to identify and address any shortcomings in hospital services at the earliest so that patients can receive timely and quality healthcare.
‘Every Patient’s Trust Is Most Important’
During the visit, CM Rekha Gupta said that the trust of every patient is the top priority for the Delhi government.
She emphasised that the government’s objective is not only to develop hospital infrastructure but also to strengthen public confidence in the healthcare system.
According to the Chief Minister, patients should receive:

- Quality healthcare.
- Essential medicines.
- Respectful behaviour.
- Necessary hospital facilities.
She said that public trust in government healthcare services can be strengthened when citizens receive timely treatment and are treated with dignity.
CM Calls for Regular Monitoring of Hospitals
The Chief Minister directed officials to maintain regular monitoring of hospital services and ensure that patient complaints are resolved promptly.
She also advised authorities to continuously collect feedback from patients and their families to identify areas that require improvement.
CM Rekha Gupta said the Delhi government is focused on ensuring that its policies and healthcare initiatives deliver tangible benefits directly to citizens.
She added that regular inspections of hospitals and direct interaction with the public will continue as part of efforts to improve healthcare services across the national capital.
