The Delhi High Court ordered the Delhi government to hold the salary of the Secretary Rural Development Department and the Principal Secretary (Revenue)/Divisional Commissioner. Their salary has been held until the industrial award(s) in favor of workmen remain unimplemented.

A single-judge bench of Justice Navin Chawla heard the matter through video conferencing. He directed to file a status report.

To be noted that the petition was filed by Delhi Prashasan Vikas Vibhag Industrial Employees Union. The petition sought the implementation of industrial award(s) and recovery certificate(s) that were passed in favor of the workmen 14 years back. Even the High Court and Supreme Court had affirmed the same.

The bench noted that no action has been taken ever since.

The bench has listed the matter for further hearing on January 27.
