Delhi: LG Orders Major Transfer of Senior Police Officers, Ranjeesh Gupta Made Joint Commissioner of Police, Special Cell

In a sweeping administrative overhaul, Delhi Lieutenant-Governor (LG) V K Saxena has announced the transfer of 16 senior police officers. The reshuffle, which includes both officers from the Indian Police Service (IPS) and the Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service (DANIPS), is expected to realign key responsibilities within the Delhi Police force.

The transfers impact six IPS officers and ten DANIPS officers, with changes affecting high-profile positions across various branches and districts.

Key Transfers:

  • Ranjeesh Gupta (IPS:2005), previously Joint Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, will now serve as Joint Commissioner of Police, Special Cell.
  • Vikramjit Singh (IPS:2006), who was Joint Commissioner of Police, Western Range, has been moved to Joint Commissioner of Police, Special Branch.
  • Jatin Narwal (IPS:2006), formerly Joint Commissioner of Police, Security, will now be Joint Commissioner of Police, Western Range.
  • Pushpendra Kumar (IPS:2006) has been appointed Joint Commissioner of Police, Security.
  • Nupur Prasad (IPS:2007) has been designated as Additional Commissioner of Police, General Administration.
  • Raja Banthia (IPS:2014), formerly Additional Commissioner of Police, West District, is now the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Economic Offences Wing (EOW).

DANIPS Transfers:

  • BL Suresh (DANIPS:2001), formerly Deputy Commissioner of Police, SPUWAC, will now be the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Land & Building.
  • Anyesh Roy (DANIPS:2006), previously Deputy Commissioner of Police, EOW, has been appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi District.
  • Sandeep Bayala (DANIPS:2009), former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Security, is now the Deputy Commissioner of Police, 2nd Battalion, Delhi Armed Police (DAP).
  • Anand Kumar Mishra (DANIPS:2010), previously Deputy Commissioner of Police, PCR (Operations), will now serve as Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi District.
  • Chandra Kumar Singh (DANIPS:2010), formerly Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, has been transferred to Deputy Commissioner of Police, 3rd Battalion, DAP.
  • Dhal Singh Patle (DANIPS:2010), previously Deputy Commissioner of Police, 3rd Battalion, DAP, will now take over as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic.
  • Tanu Sharma (DANIPS:2011), formerly Deputy Commissioner of Police, 7th Battalion, DAP, has been given additional charge as Deputy Commissioner of Police, SPUWAC.
  • Ravikant Kumar (DANIPS:2011), previously Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi District, will now serve as Deputy Commissioner of Police, PCR (Operations).
  • Gaurav Gupta (DANIPS:2012), formerly Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi District, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Security.
  • Shristi Pandey (DANIPS:2018) has been appointed as Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, West District.
