Delhi Surpasses Mumbai in Daily Tally of Covid 19 Cases

While recoding more than 17000 cases in a single day, Delhi has now surpassed Mumbai in the daily tally of fresh Covid cases.

Delhi has now become the worst hit city in the country affected by the second wave of Covid 19. The capital has also surpassed the financial capital, Mumbai, crossing more than 17,000 cases in a single day. On the other hand, the highest number of cases in Mumbai was recorded on 4 April where the city got 11,163 new cases.

Around the same time last year, the country was dealing with the first wave of Covid 19. However, the second wave is expected to be more deadly as with the rise in the number of cases, the fatality rate is also shooting up. For the sixth straight day, the country recorded more than 1.5 lakh new cases and for the second day in continuation, it recorded more than 2 lakh new cases.

Uptill now the country has recorded more than 14.1 million cases and more than 1.7 lakh deaths.
