Under the leadership of Managing Director Shri Praveen Kumar, DFCCIL has announced a partnership with IIT Roorkee to develop a Broken Rail Detection System aimed at enhancing rail safety.
The MoU signed between the two organizations will focus on early detection of rail cracks and fractures to prevent accidents.
The DFCCIL-funded initiative will use thermal cameras to detect rail and weld fractures and monitor the propagation of cracks, ensuring the safety and health of freight trains.
The dedicated freight corridors in India are a network of electric broad gauge freight railway lines that solely serve freight trains, thus making the freight service in India faster and efficient. DFCCIL a public sector company is responsible for undertaking planning, development, mobilisation of financial resources and construction, maintenance and operation of these corridors.
