New Delhi: The Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, will organise a regional workshop under the DISHA 2.0 scheme in Goa on September 21, bringing together government representatives, legal institutions and other stakeholders to discuss ways to expand access to justice.
The workshop will focus on technology-enabled legal services, legal awareness and pro bono legal assistance, particularly for citizens in remote and underserved areas.
DISHA 2.0 Workshop to Bring Justice Stakeholders Together
The regional workshop will be held at the University Auditorium of the India International University of Legal Education & Research (IIULER), Goa, from 10:30 am.

Participants will include representatives from:
- Central and state governments
- Common Service Centres (CSCs)
- Ministry of Rural Development
- Law institutions
- Other stakeholders involved in access to justice initiatives
The programme will also feature addresses by senior dignitaries from the Centre and Goa.
‘Nyaya Prabodh’ Campaign to Highlight Legal Rights
A key feature of the workshop will be the showcase of the best reels created under ‘Nyaya Prabodh: Awakening to Justice – Know Your Rights in 90 Seconds’.
A slogan competition under the Nyaya Prabodh campaign will also be launched.
The initiatives seek to promote awareness of citizens’ constitutional and legal rights and encourage greater public participation in the justice system.
Tele-Law Beneficiaries to Share Experiences
The workshop will include a documentary on the achievements of DISHA 2.0 in Goa, followed by interactions with beneficiaries and service providers.
The participants will include:
- Tele-Law beneficiaries
- Panel lawyers
- Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs)
- Nyaya Sahayaks
The interactions will highlight how digital legal services are being used to connect citizens with legal assistance.
Focus on Pro Bono Legal Services
Students and faculty members from law schools associated with the Nyaya Bandhu Pro Bono Legal Services Programme in Goa will also participate.
The session will focus on the role of legal institutions and young legal professionals in expanding pro bono legal services and improving access to justice.
Tele-Law, Nyaya Bandhu Among Key Initiatives
The Department of Justice is implementing several initiatives under its efforts to improve access to legal services and awareness.
Key programmes include:
- Tele-Law — technology-enabled access to legal advice
- Nyaya Bandhu — pro bono legal services
- Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness Programmes
- VIDHI-Sanjeevani
The Department said these initiatives are aimed at making justice services more accessible, understandable and affordable and advancing the constitutional objective of equal access to justice.
